The opposite of bravery isn’t cowardice, it’s conformity and in the CPG industry, there are vast seas of sameness. There are untold benefits to zigging while a category zags, but the key to standing out isn’t simply being different for different's sake, it’s being different in the right ways that challenge a category without alienating consumers.
This principle was at the heart of our recent brand creation Best Behavior Cereal, a high protein, low-sugar cereal created in partnership with Redbud Brands.

STRATEGY

We started with our positioning: cereal for adults, by adults, crafted to be so irresistible in flavor and function that you’d want to spoon it. Literally and figuratively. With this mission, our Core Creative Idea was to be “Tastefully Bold.”

NAMING

In naming the brand, we played with the dichotomy of being an adult and always having to be on your Best Behavior, but maybe not always wanting to. Our grown-up cereal is the best of both worlds, tasting amazing while still being a responsible healthy choice.

We chose Interact for their proven history of bringing products to market which truly stand out on shelf. When new to market, packaging can be a brand's strongest asset. In the case of Best Behavior, Interact leaned in when we asked them to rethink the cereal space from a grown-up, culinary perspective. The collaborative creative process landed us exactly where we hoped to be, way past the expected and far from anything that is currently on shelf. They went beyond packaging and brought an entire brand ethos to life for 'adult cereal'.
