Stick Shift: A New Era of Meat Snacks

Red meat is quietly trending up. Whole Foods Market reports a 20% lift in red meat sales this year, and “protein-forward” continues to drive innovation across the snack aisle.

The modern sticks from Chomps&New Primal have some new competitors:

Wild Horizon launched a beef bar packed with 25g of grass-fed 🥩 that straddles the line between supplement and snack.

Carnivore Snax launched a two-ingredient dried beef snack that is simply 100% grass-fed meat with a touch of salt, also referenced by fans as a "meat pastry."

It’s the latest evolution in a category that’s been steadily innovating for years.

Brands like EPIC Provisions and WILDE CHIPS laid the groundwork with bars and chips that reimagined what meat snacks could look like.

Growth was slow and stayed niche.

Now, with the uptick in meat consumption and consumers' unending satiation for protein, the category feels primed for a reset.

Is this a red meat renaissance? Or just another protein-fueled flirtation?
